Sightseeing with Sophia : Badlands National Park

Badlands of South Dakota

Welcome to the Badlands National Park.

A sign.

The Badlands are type of dry terrain soft sedimentary rocks and clay-rich soils are often eroded by wind and rain. Badlands often have a spectacular color display that alternates from dark black/blue coal stria to bright clays to red scoria. Scoria is a dark colored volcanic rock.

Me and my girl.

MudLynn loved the Badlands! She wanted to pose in with the Badlands behind her. She is such a photogenic dog.

A pretty sunflower…

This guy was a daredevil! He climbed all the way to the top! I would have been petrified to climb it.

Beware Rattlesnakes!
