The Week Ahead

Outside my window… The weather is cold and rainy. Just how I like it!

I am thinking… about how my summer job is slowly coming to an end.

I am thankful… That I have made many new friends at camp.

From the dining hall/kitchen… I had some waffles.

I am hearing… The clicking of keys as my fingers type on my Macbook.

I am watching/listening… The Maze Runner and the rain pitter-patter outside the window.

Always one of my favorite things… is watching Netflix and riding.

I am reading… Nothing.

I am making… Nothing.

I am writing… This blog post!

A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week… Today - I have brought one of my friends that I work with at camp home with me, so we are going to go with my mom to look at the house, go to lunch and then game night! Sunday - it's back to camp we go. Monday-Friday is camp work (wrangling and such). Friday afternoon - I come home to spend the weekend with my mom and MudLynn.

MudLynn Update… It always feels like forever when I don't see my dog for a week.

College Update… I am all registered for classes next fall and I am so excited to move into the apartment.

Riding Update… Riding is going really well. I am currently riding western at camp, but I am trying to squeeze in some english rides when I can.

Trail Riding Bliss

The best way to end a crazy out day is with a long trail ride.

The me, the wranglers, two of the counselors and our arts and crafts director all hit the trail that day.

I got to ride my favorite mare, Fiona who thoroughly enjoyed our arena ride and our trail ride. I kept shouting things like "For Narnia!", "For Britain!", and "Khaleesi!" when we would burst into a canter in the arena. She is such a war horse, I love it.

The trail was super fun because we would talk about everything we did during the week and sing songs on the trail. We Girl Scout counselors love to sing.

We ended up finding a gorgeous little spot called Frog Pond so we will definitely have to find it again and picnic there.

Arrow (on the right) brought her horse Joey (on the left) on the trail. He did suer and gained more experience since he is a 3 year old gelding. He will be 4 at the end of this month.

Week 2 of camp is complete!

Cody the Painted Pony

Just thought I'd share this picture of Cody all decorated in a masterpiece by the kids from our second week of camp. Isn't he gorgeous?

Summer Read

This summer I decided to read a book by one of my favorite authors, Tanya Biank. I read her book Army Wives and watched the show that was based on it and fell in love. She really brings the life of being a military spouse to its fullest. She develops and shows the ups and downs of the marriages as well. I personally feel as though people think the military life is cool because you live in different places and see cool things, but it's not like that. Maybe a little bit, but spouses and children of military members sacrifice their time with their spouse so that they can keep our country safe.

Undaunted is about a handful of service women she interviewed for her book. These aren't ordinary women, these women hold power in the military. In the whole military, the amount of women is very minimal to the drastic amount of men. I haven't gotten far in the book but I am already loving it. I highly recommend that you look into some of Tanya Biank's books and give them a read. You should go watch Army Wives on Netflix!

Happy Fourth!!

Jelly Bean the Half Mini - Half Unicorn

We had quite the day with the bean. We finally dyed her mane and tail with streaks of pink! She didn't mind the process of dying and bleaching her mane and tail, but she didn't like the bath that she got after. She looks like a My Little Pony now!

We then all decided to dye a strip of our hair pink with Jelly Bean. It is the first time I have ever bleached and dyed my hair. I do understand my hair won't be the same after it fades, but I don't regret it. I'm in college and I have time to mess around with my look to see what I want to look like in the future, or if it is not for me. I've gone 21 years without dying or bleaching it and avoiding many hair instruments (curling wands and hair dryers). I prefer to let my hair air dry. I really love having the pink in my hair so we will see what I decide.

DIY Queen and the Weekly Reads

Lately, I've been a bit more selfish about things that I like to do. For example, reading and DIY. DIY is things are so fun to do. I h...
