Thursday Funtime

We had a good ride today. We rode in the indoor again since it was a bit chilly and cloudy again. I mainly rode on my own doing my own flat work since my instructor was with a girl whose horse was being checked out by the vet.

Herucles and I started off doing at least 15 minutes of walking to warm him up. He was a bit more lethargic than normally though. We walked around doing serpentines, halts, back-ups, and changing directions many times in order to get both sides fully warmed up.

We then started trotting around, again changing direction a few times. Since he was a bit lethargic, he was very slow at the trot. Since he was nice and slow, I let him stretch his neck out. He looks like a hunter pony with his neck all stretched and long.

We then worked on our cantering. When we did that, he started to get excited since he started to whinny since the other horses were coming in to eat their dinner. However, after we cantered and went down to the trot, he started to stretch his neck out even more which I absolutely love. 

Once my instructor came back into the indoor, we did some jumping! I am still currently jumping 2'6…

We did well jumping. I for some reason was a bit rusty. But, we are improving in landing with our correct leads. We worked only with two 2'6 cross rails in the middle of the arena. We stopped jumping when he started to huff and puff like the big bad wolf. He was a. more hyper than usual and b. more lethargic in the beginning. But he was a good boy. He got a few carrots and a good groom after our ride.

Ascot II Grooming Box Review

I had a Titanic moment because before he came to my house, he literally drove past my house and I was going, "Come back! Where are you going?" in a sad high pitched voice.

Okay, so I was analyzing this so much cause I was expecting my package yesterday. I literally checked it every day when I woke up. I loved how fast it was shipped even though I only paid for standard shipping. It came about 3 days after I ordered it. Really fast shipping.

IT CAME!

Operation: Open The Box. Do you ever realize how hard it is to cut the tape on the box is incredibly difficult? I always go off the line in between the two box flaps. 

MudLynn sees the box… "Is it for me?"

"What is it Sophie? Is it for me?"

Now, I did some measuring before I bought it to see how long, wide and high it was. I literally didn't think it would be this big but, in the future its size will be resourceful. I'll be able to store, bottles of detangled, fly spray, shampoo, conditioner, and other liquids in it.

I seriously can't wait to take this to the barn! I love it! However it is still quite empty since I only have a few brushes as you can see in the last photo.

Yeah, that's how full it is now. But I just recently put two lead ropes in the bottom so it didn't look really empty. The right side has all my daily brushes, the tray on the left has my braiding twine, bands, and sample detanglers, and then the middle has scissors, a brush for brushing off dirt on my boots, a toothbrush for cleaning tack and two blue lead ropes (not pictured). 

I Can't Wait!

Guys, you have no idea how excited I am to get home after school. The main reason is that my package from Dover comes today! I've been tracking it online like crazy, it's insane. Also, I have a little bit of pet sitting to do, and a new pet sitting client meeting. I am literally booked for 23 days of the whole month already. I'm so blessed to have these little jobs because they help me make some extra cash for my future car when we move to Washington.

GUYS!!

I just got an email about my Dover Saddlery package and it said on the tracking site that it will be here tomorrow evening! You have no idea how excited I am! I'll be able to take my own grooming supplies to the barn on Thursday… I've downsized a tiny bit on the stuff in my grooming box. I threw out some brushes that were a bit on the nasty side.

The Week Ahead

Outside my window… It is sunny today! It feels a little warmer than it was yesterday. Spring is here!

I am thinking… The one thing I want in life. 

I am thankful… That I am getting more baby sitting and pet sitting clients. More money for my savings account.

From the kitchen… Pepperidge Farm Cinnamon Swirl Toast for my breakfast and a cup of hot cocoa!

I am hearing… the television play a film and the clicking of keys as my fingers type on my Macbook.

I am watching… Murder She Wrote. I love Dame Angela Lansbury. 

Always one of my favorite things… Is looking at horses for sale and dreaming of the life I would have if I had the money to buy. Oh well, motivation to save my money and get a job!

I am reading… I'm not reading anything at the moment. 

I am making… A few Excel sheets and a Word document.

I am writing… An email to Thirty-One bags about including a horse icon for this embroidery section and a writing prompt for English.

A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week…I have two days left of school for the week. Wednesday and Saturday are my school days along with Monday. Lesson on Thursday and some more petsitting and babysitting on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!!  

MudLynn Update… Her nose has completely gone down! She doing very well, and she is almost done with her antibiotics from her dental surgery. It's time to start brushing her teeth now. 

College Update… I am working hard in my studies. I am working on my English outline for my next essay.  I am also working on my demonstration speech which is on "How to Make Snicker's Cupcake."

Riding Update… I rode last week! Hercules and I did good jumping. We jumped a roll top for the first time together. He did hesitate for a minute but I reassured him that everything was fine and he jumped it. I felt very confident. I need to build my confidence up some more.

Hi everyone! I just ordered a new grooming box from Dover yesterday so I am waiting for it to come in the mail. When it does, I am going to do a review on it once I used it for two weeks at the barn.

Then if I find time, I might do a What's in my Grooming Box on YouTube. 

I'm open to any reviews you would like me to do in the future for you guys!

The Three L's

I am starting to like the weather right now. It is still a bit chilly, but it's sunny now since we had a few days of cloudy coverage with rain. I can tell that spring is finally here. I like seeing the new flowers sprouting and the new grass turning green for summer.

Love

I am just loving my work ethic that I've had lately! It is awesome! I just finished all of my homework for math and edited my English analysis paper for today. I am always doing my homework because I want amazing grades. I am grade crazy, I have to have an A in the class. When I get home from school, I am going to start brain storming for my demonstration speech and email my professor and ask her what I can do with my outline and speech in order to achieve more excellent check marks on the grading rubric. I am never happy when I get something below an A-. 

Loathe

I am really loathing American Vogue right now since they put Kanye and Kim on the cover. It's just disgusting and unclasp of Vogue to do that. I feel like I want to hurl when I see Vogue on the magazine shelves at Barnes and Noble. Bad move there, Vogue.
