The Week Ahead

Outside my window… It is gloomy yet a bit humid, I think we are supposed to get rain today.

I am thinking… About visiting a new barn with my neighbor Meredith.

I am thankful… That I am getting more baby sitting and pet sitting clients. More money for my savings account.

From the kitchen… A hot cocoa and some gummy vitamins.

I am hearing… The clicking of keys as my fingers type on my Macbook.

I am watching… Nothing right now.

Always one of my favorite things… Looking at pets in shelters on Petfinder. It saddens me to see them in shelters, they need homes ASAP!

I am reading… I'm not reading anything at the moment.

I am making… Outlines for English and Public Speaking.

I am writing… This blog post and my outlines!

A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week… I'm heading to visit the barn my neighbor rides at today, tomorrow I have class until 10:45 since my English class got cancelled

MudLynn Update… MudLynn now has some lovely wet medicated dog food! She loves it!

College Update… I am working hard in my studies. I am working on my English outline for my next essay.  I am also working on my demonstration speech which is on "How to Make Snicker's Cupcake."

Riding Update… I rode last week! Hercules and I did good jumping. He was a bit lethargic though.

The Three L's

Like
I like how I have saved up all the money I have earned from sitting so far. I am almost up to my goal right now. I have a few more jobs this month and a few next month. So, hopefully I will exceed my goal for my bank account!

Love
I love extra credit in my classes. My math professor just gave us a piece of extra credit that's due Monday. I can boost my math grade even more than it is! I really need to boost my test scores because I keep getting a 91% on them. I am trying to go for a 95% on our last test. I need to get a 100% on our next notebook check. I keep getting a 99%. I have to have an A in the class because then I don't have to take the final exam.

Loathe
I AM LOATHING MATH! Honestly, I hate math with a passion when I'm not getting the correct answer. It just frustrates me to pieces. I feel like Sheldon Cooper when he can't figure out a problem. It's similar to that. Yes, I am a mini female version of Sheldon Cooper.

School Tip #7

School Tip #7

Okay, this school tip post is an extension of the post where I talked about the importance of sticky notes.

Other than using them to bookmark things in your books, it is good to use them for making daily homework list. For example, the picture shown above is my homework load for today. As you can see, I have only done a small amount. Once reason why is because if you focus to much on multiple subjects, your mind gets frazzled. When you have a list, you can focus on one item at a time therefor completing your list with ease and effort. I just completed my computers quiz, a journal entry for public speaking and so far nearly all my public speaking questions.

The Grown-Up Feeling

Today I have been having this feeling all day. I am almost finished with my homework because I am dedicating myself and my time to it. I need everything done because I am going to see a new barn on Tuesday with my neighbor. I am also going to see her new baby (aka her new horse).

Anyway, back to my feeling today. I've been doing so much. It's as though I live here in the house on my own with my dog. I love this feeling. I just made myself some lunch, emptied and reloaded the dishwasher, took out the recycling, vacuumed the dirt in the kitchen (it got tracked in), let Mud outside, and put in a load of laundry. All of this makes me want to have my own apartment.

I am think about getting an apartment one day, but ever since I've been watching HGTV with all the apartment and house remodeling, I get picky when it comes to how they look. I rant about how they don't have crown modeling, stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, a walk in closet and a garden bath tub.

This is how I am keeping track of my homework for the day. I write it down, and then I complete it working on one thing at a time. Less stress.

MudLynn is just easily content in her bed fast asleep as per usual. She is always sleeping, I don't know why. Why do dogs sleep so much? They could be playing fetch or running around chasing squirrels. That is one thing MudLynn likes to do. She loves to chase squirrels. One time, she almost got a squirrel when she was running really fast. She was literally on his tail.

Friday Favorite

Today's Friday Favorite is my Barbour Iris Quilted Jacket. I got this when I was in D.C. watching the Washington International Horse Show. I saw it and fell in love. And now, I wear it whenever it is cold outside, however I don't wear it to the barn. It's too pretty. Did I mention that the royal family of England wear Barbour? Well, they do. That was another reason why I got it. It's warm, perfect for the fall days as well as the winter days. It's spring now, so it will have to sit in the closet for a few months. I love the patches on fabric on the shoulders and pocket flaps. It's country chic!

Thursday Funtime

We had a good ride today. We rode in the indoor again since it was a bit chilly and cloudy again. I mainly rode on my own doing my own flat work since my instructor was with a girl whose horse was being checked out by the vet.

Herucles and I started off doing at least 15 minutes of walking to warm him up. He was a bit more lethargic than normally though. We walked around doing serpentines, halts, back-ups, and changing directions many times in order to get both sides fully warmed up.

We then started trotting around, again changing direction a few times. Since he was a bit lethargic, he was very slow at the trot. Since he was nice and slow, I let him stretch his neck out. He looks like a hunter pony with his neck all stretched and long.

We then worked on our cantering. When we did that, he started to get excited since he started to whinny since the other horses were coming in to eat their dinner. However, after we cantered and went down to the trot, he started to stretch his neck out even more which I absolutely love.

Once my instructor came back into the indoor, we did some jumping! I am still currently jumping 2'6…

We did well jumping. I for some reason was a bit rusty. But, we are improving in landing with our correct leads. We worked only with two 2'6 cross rails in the middle of the arena. We stopped jumping when he started to huff and puff like the big bad wolf. He was a. more hyper than usual and b. more lethargic in the beginning. But he was a good boy. He got a few carrots and a good groom after our ride.

Ascot II Grooming Box Review

I had a Titanic moment because before he came to my house, he literally drove past my house and I was going, "Come back! Where are you going?" in a sad high pitched voice.

Okay, so I was analyzing this so much cause I was expecting my package yesterday. I literally checked it every day when I woke up. I loved how fast it was shipped even though I only paid for standard shipping. It came about 3 days after I ordered it. Really fast shipping.

IT CAME!

Operation: Open The Box. Do you ever realize how hard it is to cut the tape on the box is incredibly difficult? I always go off the line in between the two box flaps.

MudLynn sees the box… "Is it for me?"

"What is it Sophie? Is it for me?"

Now, I did some measuring before I bought it to see how long, wide and high it was. I literally didn't think it would be this big but, in the future its size will be resourceful. I'll be able to store, bottles of detangled, fly spray, shampoo, conditioner, and other liquids in it.

I seriously can't wait to take this to the barn! I love it! However it is still quite empty since I only have a few brushes as you can see in the last photo.

Yeah, that's how full it is now. But I just recently put two lead ropes in the bottom so it didn't look really empty. The right side has all my daily brushes, the tray on the left has my braiding twine, bands, and sample detanglers, and then the middle has scissors, a brush for brushing off dirt on my boots, a toothbrush for cleaning tack and two blue lead ropes (not pictured).

DIY Queen and the Weekly Reads

Lately, I've been a bit more selfish about things that I like to do. For example, reading and DIY. DIY is things are so fun to do. I h...
