The Week Ahead

Outside my window… The weather is lovely and cool. A cool 64 degrees. It is also cloudy, but I can still see specks of the blue sky.

I am thinking… About how I only have 22 days until I move into the dorm. It's quite scary.

I am thankful… That I will miss my dog so much when I go off to college in the fall.

From the kitchen… Some refreshing water.

I am hearing… The clicking of keys as my fingers type on my Macbook and the Xfinity playing.

I am watching… The ending of Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Love Jamie Campbell Bower.

Always one of my favorite things… Exploring the sites of Washington.

I am reading… The Red Tent and I am also trying to re-read the Outlander series. I just bought the newest book that Diana Gabaldon has published.

I am making… Nothing.

I am writing… This blog post!

A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week… Today, we are just lounging at home, I just got back from a weekend trip with my friend Julia. Tomorrow, my mum and I are going to Michaels to get some glass ornament balls to decoupage all our moving stickers on them; I think we might be able to make three. Tuesday, I register for my last two classes!! Gotta be up bright and early to get the classes I want. Wednesday, I am not doing anything. Thursday, I am not doing anything. Friday, I am not doing anything. Saturday, I am not doing anything. And Sunday my parents and I are going to a friends house for a BBQ.

MudLynn Update… MudLynn is doing amazing. She is snoozing on the recliner while I type this blog post.

College Update… So far, I have gotten at least 3/4's of my college dorm items. I may do a vlog for it once I get everything else.

Riding Update…With all that has been going on, I haven't been able to ride yet. Hopefully, I can squeeze in two or three riding lessons before school and riding team try outs.

The Three L's

Like
I like tiny puppies. Puppies like Chihuahuas, Yorkies, Poodles and such. I want to adopt a couple tiny pups from the shelter. I like have little ones running around my feet. It's too cute.

Love
I love thigh-high boots. They can be paired with an outfit to make it look chic instead of trashy. I just love the different styles there are of them. Some are leather and some are suede. I particularly love the once that have heels on them.

Loathe
Don't loathe anything again! :) I am a happy camper!

August Empties

I finished body wash this month. I've been using this a lot lately, I love the scent of it. Makes me think of summer and the beach.

Again, I have been using this shampoo a lot. I love the scent of strawberries and cream. So fresh! It's is great shampoo if you're on a budget!

I loved this moisturizer! It was amazing, such a nice application and it is not thick a gloppy. A small dab goes a long way. This is a great moisturizer for those who like products that aren't tested on animals.

I got this moisturizer in one of my Ipsy bags and I loved it. It had a great application and it was a nice consistency. Not gloppy or gooey.

I've been using this cleaner for a while, I am currently on my second bottle. I don't really like it very much anymore but I have to use it up. I use a Clarisonic and this combined with it is a bit harsh so I am going to looking for a cream like cleanser. It is a great cleanser though, smells lovely.

These cleansing towelettes were a great buy, but I have now switched to a new brand. I just like to try different brands. But, this was a great buy. It really removed all the makeup off.

I got this from my optometrist and I love it! It is less expensive than the brand I used before. It is great for my contacts because it is so gentle. Only a slight amount in the contacts holder is sufficient. Not too much and not too little.

Sightseeing with Sophia: Twilight Book Tour through Port Angeles and Forks, WA

Twilight Book Tour: Port Angeles, WA

Welcome to Port Angeles, Washington! City to some of the sites featured throughout the Twilight Book Saga.

Do you remember the scene where Bella is looking for a book on Quileute Lengends and buys one in Port Angeles? Well, this is the very store Stephanie Meyer pictured in her books. I actually purchased a book there when I was in Port Angeles.

The restaurant that Bella and Edward went to in Port Angeles was based off of this restaurant, Bella Italia. I regret that I did not go in to have dinner, or even have the Mushroom Ravioli. I will next time!

And then this is the movie theatre that Bella went to with Jacob and Mike. If anyone likes investments, this movie theatre is for sale!

Twilight Book Tour: Forks, WA

The city of Forks welcomes you!

There are bus tour around Forks and LaPush for just small fees ranging from $35-$50.

The back of the bus has portraits of Bella, Edward and Jacob.

A replica of the truck Kristen Stewart/Bella used in the Twilight film.

Me with Bella's truck.

You can purchase these at the Chamber of Commerce at Forks. It's a tour of everything you need to see if you are a fan of Twilight.

Bedroom Photos

My bedroom is almost ready for a little photo session. Just a few more things to do. I need to hang up my framed Cloud the Wild Stallion poster which is signed by Ginger Catherines as well as do some finished touches with the bedding. But the photos will be up soon! :)

July 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Review

July 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag

I absolutely love this month's bag. The fabric of the bag reminds me so much of the swimsuit material.

The first product is the bareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow Broad Spectrum SPF 15. Personally, I love anything with SPF in it because it helps protect the skin from the harmful rays of the sun. This is an excellent cream shadow because once you put it on, it does not get melted into the crease of the eye lid. Plus, the shade worked very well with my brown eyes.

Next is the Clear Clinic Laboratories Vanished Clear Spot Treatment. Ever since I opened this, I have become addicted to using this. I only used it at night since it is very strong. Plus, only a little dab goes a long way. This treatment really works, I noticed less blemishes on my problem areas.

Now I don't have much to say on the Hang Ten Dark Tanning Oil SPF 08 since I have not been to the beach or pool at all this summer, but I will be trying it next summer!

Next is the Lord & Berry Kajal Stick. I started using this yesterday and it is a great product. It is so gentle to apply on the waterline, however it does not last long. You have to apply it every few hours because the color will become muted due to the eye blinking.

Last product is the Models Own Nail Polish in Red Sea. It is a nice polish but I am not really a fan of it. It's not my color and the polish a bit thin. If you like the color, you'll have to apply a few more coats to the nails. The shade is lovely for summer though.

Becoming a Better You : Money

Money

This is one part that relates to me a lot right now since I am a bit of a spender at times. It's my goal during college to be more smart with my spending as well as the decision of getting a job.

Money is important. It's what pays our bills and keeps us out of the black. Money also makes us happy by being spent on items to fit our needs such as clothes, shoes, furniture and other items. And sometimes, it gives us little bits of luxury.

My tip for you is to start a money jar. This money jar can have any purpose. Whether the fund is for shopping, holiday trips, or anything your heart desires. Just place the jar by your front door and every time you come in the door, put every coin you have in either pocket or wallet in the jar and watch it grow. You'll be surprised about how much is in the jar at the end.

Another tip is to set a monthly spending limit on everything. Say you set a limit of $100 for beauty spending (eyebrow waxing, manicure, haircut, pedi, facials, etc.), a limit of $400 for clothes and shoes and maybe $30 for music such as iTunes. These spending limits are perfect to place in your monthly budget on Excel (if it is on Excel, of course).  My mum taught me how to make my monthly budget in an Excel worksheet.

My last tip is that you place a photo of the thing you really want most in your wallet. Is it a new designer handbag or a those killer shoes you saw in the window? With the photo, you see it every time you open your wallet. You then think, do I need this item or do I just want it. I do this often and it does help. My wallet normally holds photos of a horse I dream of, shoes I drool over and clothes I yearn for.  Just ask yourself that question when you find something you might want, but in the end it might end up in the donations bin.

The Three L's

Like
I like guys who have their sh*t together. It is so much more appealing when you know that the graduated high school, got a college degree and have a steady job to support themselves. They actually care about what happens to them in the future.

Love
I love Apple Strudel Bread. SO YUMMY. It is literally apple strudel on cinnamon bread. You have to try it, it is available at Costco, not sure every Costco though. It is at the Costco here in WA.

Loathe
Sometimes I loathe being single. I would like to have a boyfriend sometimes, but then I enjoy being single. Eh, we will see who wanders their way into my life.

The Week Ahead

Outside my window… There is a gorgeous sunset outside my back door. A beautiful red sky is wrapped around the mountains.

I am thinking… About how much I love Poulsbo.

I am thankful… That I will miss my dog so much when I go off to college in the fall.

From the kitchen… A Granny Smith apple.

I am hearing… The clicking of keys as my fingers type on my Macbook and the Xfinity playing.

I am watching… Grown Ups 2. It is rather hilarious! My stomach hurts from laughing so much.

Always one of my favorite things… I love studying nature. The way it looks and the little details. I love doing it in Poulsbo and Bend.

I am reading… The Red Tent. It is so good, I highly recommend it right now.

I am making… Nothing.

I am writing… This blog post!

A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week… Today, we just got back from Bend. Tomorrow, I am working on driving in the area. Tuesday, nothing but probably driving. Wednesday, relaxing. Thursday, nothing. Friday, I am driving to Port Townsend to take the ferry to Coupville where I will be meeting up with Julia because we are heading to visit Forks this weekend. Sunday, I am going with my parents to one of our friends home for a barbecue.

MudLynn Update… MudLynn is doing amazing. She is a bit confused because for some reason she is acting all guilty, tail between the legs and a guilty face.

College Update… So far, I have gotten at least half of my college dorm items. I may do a vlog for it once I get everything else.

Riding Update…With all that has been going on, I haven't been able to ride yet. Hopefully, I can squeeze in two or three riding lessons before school and riding team try outs.

Weekend in Bend, OR

We had a great time in Bend, even if it was just for four days. It was a nice time, I was glad that my mum got to see her sister (my aunt) and her family; it had been five years. Plus, I got to see my monsters (cousins). In two years, they will be taller than me. Time to buy stiletto boots! I may by five pairs, each a different style.

MudLynn came with us on the trip and she got to meet Brindi (her doggy cousin). She liked Brindi because Brindi was so mellow and calm around her. Mud did protect her food from her by snapping but Brindi was only curious.

She was so exhausted just from walking in the dog park. I am trying to get her to be more active because I read on a website that proper exercise, diet and health can help an animal live longer in years. She has already slimmed down around her waist. The vet in VA said she was about a pound or two over weight. So tomorrow, I shall weigh her to see where she is now!

She liked to go out on the deck with Brindi to see what was happening down below. Mud and Brindi are now best pals. The cats… Not so much best pals.

It's obvious that Brindi remembered me because she was constantly giving me kisses. I think MudLynn is saying, "Leave my mom alone!"

I liked going on long walks/hikes on Phil's Trail with my aunt and decided to see if MudLynn would do off leash with Brindi is the wild wilderness. She did amazing! She loved walking off leash because she could sniff what she wanted and could run to catch up with us. She didn't go after chipmunks like Brindi. Mud was totally unfazed by it.

Mud is definitely a momma's girl and the navigator.

She was exhausted after we took a morning walk with my aunt and Brindi. She snoozed all day.

Mud and Brindi loved to lay out on the couch on the deck.

Out last lunch was at the Deschutes Brewery. I love the food here. I also bought myself a shirt.

Me and my aunt. I swear, she is the coolest aunt. And possibly the only one I am close to.

I had fish and chips at the Deschutes Brewery. It is possibly the best fish and chips I have had in Bend. I love how the outside of the fish is crunchy and not soggy.

Time to say goodbye to my faux brothers. Can't wait for Christmas this year! Back to Bend!

My baby was exhausted from her weekend trip, she slept the whole way laying in the shade.

After being in the back, she came up to sit with me. Mud is such a great little traveler. She just curls up next to me on her pillow and sleeps while I read The Red Tent.

DIY Queen and the Weekly Reads

Lately, I've been a bit more selfish about things that I like to do. For example, reading and DIY. DIY is things are so fun to do. I h...
